  • Frame rates are the number of frames displayed on a screen per second.
  • Frames per second can be shortened down to FPS. This is also known as the frame rate.
  • The human eye is capable of differentiating between 10 and 15 still images per second before it just starts seeing it as motion.
  • When creating a film, you will need at least 24 FPS to give the illusion of movement.
  • Some common frame rates used are 24 FPS, 48 FPS and 60 FPS.
